Money Purchase Plan/401(k) Savings Plan
Novo Nordisk automatically contributes 8% of your annual salary and bonus to the Money Purchase Plan on your behalf. The company will add another 1% to the 401(k) Savings Plan if you contribute at least 2% of your pre-tax pay. Company contributions are fully vested after just three years.

Term Life Insurance
You automatically receive insurance equal to two times your annual base salary – at no cost to you – on your first day of work. You can purchase additional coverage at low group rates.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Through National Merit Scholarship Corp., Novo Nordisk sponsors two four-year renewable scholarships of $2,000 per year for children of employees.

Prescription Drug Plan
Coverage begins on day one. Novo Nordisk marketed drugs are covered at 100%. Other drugs are covered with a co-pay: just $15 for generics, $30 for brand preferred, and $50 for brand non-preferred. A convenient mail-order program is available for maintenance prescription drugs. Under the CDHP, preventive Rx’s are covered 100%, with no co-pay.
You can elect dental coverage for you and your eligible family members on your first day of employment. Choose between a PPO and a DMO plan. Novo Nordisk pays 90% of the monthly premium.
Voluntary Vision Benefit
Vision care with low co-pays for annual eye exams and lenses and a biannual allowance for frames. Other discounts are available. National retail network.
Health Savings Account
Available with the CDHP plan only, provides reimbursement for eligible health care expenses, i.e., co-pays & coinsurance. Under the CDHP, in-network preventive services are covered at 100%.
Benefits provide up to 100% of your base salary for the first 90 days of qualified illness or injury and then 75% of salary for the next 90 days, up to a maximum benefit period of 180 days. Employees with more than 5 years tenure with the company will receive 100% salary for the full 180 days. The Company pays the full cost for this coverage, which begins on day one of a continuous qualified disability.
Benefits provide 60% of your base salary/bonus after short term disability ends. Novo Nordisk pays the full cost for this basic coverage. You can purchase additional coverage that increases your long-term disability protection to 70% of base salary/bonus.
Retiree Health Plan
Even after you retire, you can participate in a comprehensive health plan, which includes medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage. All employees are entitled to this supplementary coverage for retirees as long as they have completed 10 years of full-time service and have reached the age of 55.
Critical Illness Insurance
Optional coverage designed as a complement to your current medical coverage, Critical Illness Insurance pays a lump-sum benefit payment if you or your covered dependent(s) experience one of six covered medical conditions – Heart Attack, Stroke, Kidney Failure, certain Cancers, Major Organ Transplant, or Coronary Artery Disease/Bypass.
