Hormone Therapy and Menopause

Perimenopause is the stage in which the woman’s menstrual cycle starts to change and can last up to 1 year after menopause. It may have a duration of 6 years or more. Menopause, the final menstrual cycle, is medically confirmed when a woman has gone 1 year without having a period. And postmenopause describes all the years after menopause. As women live longer, it is possible that they will spend at least one-third of their lives with less estrogen in their body.
