In 2022, Novo Nordisk shifted its social giving strategy to focus on preventing chronic diseases. We believe that by empowering community organizations with resources and broad-based partnerships, local leaders can create sustainable change and mitigate the risk factors associated with chronic diseases before they take root.
At Novo Nordisk, we pair grants with organizations in vulnerable communities, and programs are designed together in collaboration. These projects are then implemented by and in the communities themselves — directly addressing distinct needs and challenges that local teams are best positioned to understand and solve. By supporting national organizations like the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, to local partners like Sprout NoLa, I’m proud to say that our programming is reaching more people than ever before. Specifically, in 2023 we reached over 67,000 individuals in 36 states through our investments and we have continued to build our portfolio of impact in 2024.
Our mission drives our business, inspires our employees, and fuels our culture. Everyday Novo Nordisk employees make a tangible difference in their communities nationwide. This year, we held our first Day of Service, dedicating a full day for employees to connect with their local teams and contribute to a more equitable and inclusive future in their own communities. From nurturing community gardens to packaging meals for food banks to serving in soup kitchens, their diverse acts of service amplified our shared purpose and underscored our commitment to giving back.
I’m grateful to be able to work with such impactful organizations and am honored to play a role in our collective efforts to realize change. From groundbreaking partnerships to dedicated volunteerism, we're championing preventative healthcare and stronger communities – building a healthier future for generations to come.
